What is Mary's Fund?The Mary’s Fund was founded in 1958 to serve mothers and children from low-income, marginalized, developing countries of the world. Funds reach the poorest of the poor and provide mothers with assistance to achieve a better life for their children and improve their standard of living. The Mary’s Fund has supported primary health care clinics and has provided training programs in hygiene, child care, and nutrition to women all over the world. It has also provided funding for clean water projects, income-generating projects, and has given emergency aid to families in crisis. Many educational opportunities have been made available to these women and children as well.
The Wyoming Catholic Women’s CCWs have been incredibly generous in their fundraising efforts, raising as much as $25,000 to support causes abroad. Their contributions have extended to various countries, including those where many Wyoming priests have their roots.
Submitted applications are due by April 20th and taken into consideration by the Wyoming Council of Catholic Women board at their June meeting. The selected application is then sent to the diocese and must be approved by the Chancery Office of the Diocese of Cheyenne. The recipient is then announced at the annual WCCW Convention.

Guidelines for the MARY’S FUND
The Mary’s Fund was founded in 1958 to serve mothers and children in countries where poverty is the norm. Funds reach the poorest of the poor and provide mothers the extra lift needed to achieve a better life for their children. The Mary’s Fund achieves this through projects such as training programs, water projects, income-generating projects and emergency aid.
The WCCW Board will review all applications at the summer board meeting and vote for the recipient(s). Funds will be awarded to the prior year recipient(s) and the next year’s recipient(s) will be announced at the annual WCCW State Convention held in September or October.
Describe how the project will assist to improve the lives of women and children. How will WCCW Mary’s Fund be utilized? You may include pictures, stories, history, financial information, etc., in your application packet. Attach as many additional pages as necessary. You may include a PowerPoint, slide show, DVD or video.
The form must be signed by the pastor and the individual or a representative of the affiliate that is submitting the application. Applicant must be a Catholic person or Catholic organization. Unsigned applications will not be considered by the Chancellor.Requirements
The organization to be considered:
Must exist to improve the lives of women and children, AND
Be located in a country other than the United States, AND
There must be a contact person in the United States, AND
The organization must be approved by the Chancery Office of the Diocese of Cheyenne. If the organization is not approved by the Chancery, the application will not be considered. Please contact the Chancellor if you have questions about whether or not the organization you have chosen is acceptable. If the application is associated with a priest from a diocese outside of the US, a letter of support from the bishop of his diocese must accompany the application.
Deadlines
April 20, 2025 - Applications must be postmarked by this date.
May 15, 2025 - Application packets distributed to committee members for review.
June 2025 - Board will vote for recipient(s)
September 2025 - Recipient will be announced at the 2025 Annual WCCW Convention.After the recipient is announced, local WCCW affiliates will raise monies for the 2025 recipient. The funds will be distributed to the recipient at the 2025 Annual WCCW Convention.
